EVERY DAY

• Update your antivirus and spyware definitions. {A computer virus will spread through your system within hours. By keeping your antivirus software up-to-date you have a better chance of preventing this from occurring.}
• Do a backup of your files. {Making regular backups of your files will help you to recover from a disater quicker and with less stress.}
• Reboot your computer when a program crashes. {When a software application crashes or freezes, restart you computer to flush out any errors that could cause other problems.}

EVERY WEEK

• Perform a FULL virus and spyware scan. {By regularly scanning you system you will have a better chance of finding those evil little things that can get into your computer and cause so many problems for you later.}
• Run a Windows Update. {Get and install the latest patches from Microsoft to help ensure that your computer will be protected from known security problems and bugs.}

EVERY MONTH

• Check for updates to your current software programs. {Updating your software applications regularly will ensure that they perform without problems.}
• Keep your system drivers up-to-date. {Having up-to-date drivers will keep your systems devices working smoother and will keep your computer stabilized.}

EVERY YEAR

• Clean out your computers case. {Open your computers case and use a vacuum cleaner to carefully remove the dust that collects in the case. This dust can cause excess heat to build up and will clog up the cooling fans.}
• Conduct a full diagnostic check of your system. {If you don't know how, have a technician perform a hardware-diagnostic program check on your computers hardware. This annual check will help track down any faulty components before they fail and cause you to loose your data.}
